Why do cats eat cat litter?

The reasons why cats eat cat litter:

1. Cats have never seen cat litter and are curious about cat litter, and some cat litter is scented, which will cause them to eat cat litter. Make the kitten mistake it for food.

2. Kittens are naughty. If there are no toys, they will like to play with cat litter, and they will eat cat litter during play.

3. When cats lack trace elements, they will eat random things, such as wall coverings, sand, etc. This condition is called pica.

The dangers of cats eating cat litter:

1. Some cat litter is toxic to cats, such as crystal cat litter, which may cause irritation to cats after swallowing Poisoning, or scratching the cat's intestines.

2. There are many bacteria in cat litter. After the cat swallows it, it can easily cause the cat’s gastrointestinal infection with bacteria or parasites.

3. There are some cat litters that are highly absorbent but not soluble in water. After cats swallow them, they may accumulate in their intestines and stomach, causing intestinal blockage.
