Can dogs eat oranges?

Dogs can eat a small amount of oranges, because oranges are rich in vitamin C, water, potassium and fiber, which can supplement the nutrients needed by the body and improve the body's immunity. However, the gastrointestinal tract of dogs is relatively fragile, and the sugar content in oranges is too high. Eating too much may lead to diarrhea or obesity. If your dog has diarrhea or soft stools, you should stop feeding and feed an appropriate amount of probiotics to regulate the gastrointestinal environment.

It is best to feed fruits in moderation. Oranges, like many other fruits, contain high sugar content, which can cause gastrointestinal discomfort in some dogs. It is possible that if one dog in the family eats it, it will have no effect, but if another dog eats it, it will cause problems. At the same time, consuming large amounts of oranges itself can put a burden on the gastrointestinal tract and make them feel uncomfortable.

Generally speaking, it is enough for a small dog to eat about 1/3 of an orange at one time, a medium-sized dog can eat half, and a large dog can eat the entire orange. Dogs can also drink a small amount of orange juice, but again, the acidity of orange juice may be unacceptable to some dogs’ gastrointestinal tracts, causing them discomfort.
