What are the symptoms of canine distemper in dogs?

Dogs suffering from canine distemper will have discharge from their eyes and loss of appetite in the early stages of the disease. The body temperature is biphasic fever. The body temperature rises initially, then gradually subsides in about 1 to 3 days. This happens repeatedly, with symptoms similar to colds. Along with conjunctivitis, gradually increasing purulent secretions, dry cough, purulent nasal discharge, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms, neurological symptoms such as convulsions or local muscle spasms will appear later. In some cases, pimples may appear under the belly, which may become suppurated and gradually swell and proliferate to form keratosis.
