Symptoms of heatstroke in dogs:
1. The body temperature will rise to 40℃ and above. The continued rise in temperature will cause the dog to breathe faster, have a rapid heartbeat, etc. .
2. The dog’s appetite decreases, but the amount of water it drinks increases.
3. Slow response, no response to the owner’s shouts or very slow response.
4. Unsteady steps, stretched neck, foaming at the mouth, and in severe cases, symptoms such as shock and coma.
Measures to prevent heatstroke in dogs:
1. Avoid activities in strong sunlight. Even after 4 pm, you should move slowly in the shade of trees and avoid excessive running.
2. When going out for activities, bring plenty of drinking water for your dog and replenish it from time to time. Drinking enough water is a good way to prevent heatstroke.
3. When taking your dog out, you must never leave your dog alone in a car, even for a short period of time.
4. For long-haired dogs and dogs with thick coats, the hair should be shaved to improve heat dissipation (the hair of some dogs is used for heat insulation and cannot be shaved).
5. Obese dogs should pay attention to losing weight, because obese dogs produce high amounts of heat in hot weather and are more likely to suffer from heatstroke.
