How to treat dogs with canine distemper

Treatment methods for dogs suffering from canine distemper:

1. Infusion treatment: inject nutrient solution in the early stage to maintain the energy and nutrients the dog needs for the day.

2. Intravenous anti-inflammation, subcutaneous injection to relieve vomiting and diarrhea, atomization, and medication for the digestive tract.

3. Monoclonal antibodies and interferons are used to fight viruses.

4. The dog’s condition is under control and its appetite has been restored, and the dog can be fed.

What are the symptoms of canine distemper:

1. The early symptoms of canine distemper are mostly fever, cough, depression, loss of appetite or even paralysis, and irritation in the eyes and nose. Purulent discharge, sneezing, and occasionally diarrhea.

2. In the middle stage of canine distemper, some dogs’ footpads will become keratinized, excessively thickened, blackened, and cracked.

3. In the later stages of canine distemper, typical neurological symptoms will appear, such as twitching of limbs and foaming at the mouth. In severe cases, dogs with poor physical condition will tremble all over, fall into coma, and are likely to die within hours to days.
