Golden retrievers require four shots of vaccine for their first immunization, including three shots of combined vaccine and one shot of rabies vaccine. First of all, when the golden retriever is 45 days old and is in good health, it can be taken to the pet hospital for vaccination. The first three doses of the combined vaccine need to be separated by 21 days. The rabies vaccine should be vaccinated after the golden retriever is three months old. After that, one dose of combined vaccine and one shot of rabies vaccine will be required regularly every year.
What should be paid attention to when the golden retriever is vaccinated:
1. During the vaccination period, do not eat anything other than dog food, because the dog’s gastrointestinal digestion is difficult at this time. The ability is weak, and if the food eaten cannot be digested, it is easy to get sick.
2. Try to avoid going out after vaccination to prevent infection by external bacteria and viruses. During this period, owners should take more careful care of their dogs.
3. Do not take a bath within 10 to 15 days after the dog is vaccinated, because the dog will be very weak after being vaccinated and its body resistance will decrease. Taking a bath at this time is easy to catch a cold and the wound will be damaged. Infections can occur from water.
