Precautions for dog sterilization:
1. Dogs need to eat and drink 8 hours in advance the day before the sterilization operation to avoid vomiting due to anesthesia during the operation. The reaction causes food to flow backwards, causing the dog to suffocate.
2. Ensure that the dog’s vaccinations are completed before surgery to prevent the dog from being more susceptible to viral diseases due to reduced resistance.
3. After the dog sterilization surgery, be careful not to feed the dog food immediately. You need to wait about 6 hours before feeding the dog. You can first feed your dog food that is easy to digest and absorb, such as meat porridge, nutritional paste, etc. You need to adopt a feeding standard of small meals and frequent meals.
4. It is recommended that the dog be hospitalized for 7 days after surgery to prevent them from being active and causing wound tearing or bacterial infection.
5. Wear an Elizabethan collar after sterilization surgery to prevent the dog from licking the surgical wound and causing infection.
6. Do not take the dog home when it is not awake. It is best to observe it in the clinic first to prevent accidents. After arriving home, choose a comfortable and clean nest and rest in a ventilated area.
7. After surgery, the dog needs to be restricted from extensive movement to avoid tearing the wound due to large-scale movement.
