What is cat plague

Feline distemper, also known as panleukopenia, is a viral infectious enteritis in cats. It is an acute and highly infectious disease. The virus can cause bone marrow suppression in cats, reduce white blood cells, and reduce immunity. Cats with incomplete or unvaccinated vaccinations are prone to cat cancer, especially kittens aged 3 to 5 months. The mortality rate of kittens infected with feline distemper is as high as 90%. If a female cat is infected during pregnancy, it can cause stillbirth, miscarriage and neurological symptoms in newborn kittens.

Methods to prevent cat distemper:

1. The best prevention method is to vaccinate cats with triple vaccine. Triple vaccine generally prevents three diseases, cat distemper and cat nose. Bronchitis and Feline Calicivirus.

2. Having been vaccinated does not mean you can sit back and relax. You must do an antibody test. And antibodies will weaken or even lose their effectiveness over time, so you must get regular booster shots.

3. If there are Aboriginal people at home, when you bring a new cat home, you must wait until the new cat has been vaccinated. After returning home, you must isolate it from the Aboriginal people for two weeks for feeding.

4. Keep the home environment hygienic, disinfect regularly and pay attention to ventilation.

5. Reduce cat stress.
