Will a cat recognize its owner if given away?

Cats will recognize their owners when given away. Cats have a very good memory. Even if they change to a new environment and a new owner, they will usually remember the old owner when they see them again. They mainly identify their owners through smell, hearing, and vision. If the new owner is particularly nice to it, takes good care of it, stays with it often, and feeds it personally, the cat will recognize the new owner, but it will still remember the old owner.

The behavior of a cat after recognizing its owner

1. A cat that recognizes its owner will often rub its owner’s legs and feet with its head, body and tail. Sometimes it will gently bite the owner's heel.

2. After a cat recognizes its owner, it will become very clingy and follow its owner wherever it goes. No matter if the owner goes to the toilet or takes a bath, it will wait for the owner at the door.

3. A cat that recognizes its owner likes to sleep with its owner and sleep next to it. It feels very safe this way.
