Can cats eat turtles?

Cats cannot eat baby turtles. The smell of small turtles is not attractive to cats. Secondly, the shell of small turtles is very hard and cats cannot chew it. If there is a small turtle at home, the cat will chew it with its mouth. It may be something that the cat will move out of curiosity. In order to prevent the cat from being bitten by the turtle or the cat scratching the turtle, it is recommended that the owner place the turtle tank in a place where the cat cannot reach it.

What to do if a cat is bitten by a turtle:

1. When the cat is injured, the owner should immediately check whether the wound is serious and whether there are any visible signs. to bones etc. If the situation is okay and can be treated at home, the owner should shave the cat around the wound to prevent hair from entering the wound and causing inflammation. Then clean the cat's wound with physiological saline, flush out the hair or foreign matter and blood clots in the wound, and then rinse the surrounding area again.

2. If it is a minor bite, the pet owner can prepare tools for treatment. First, prepare hydrogen peroxide, cotton swabs and pet suhe, trim the hair at the wound, and then use warm water to clean it. Clean the wound, remove the pus, blood and other stains. Finally, prepare the pet and spray it directly onto the wound, then bandage it and put on the Elizabethan ring.

3. While the cat is recuperating, do not let the cat’s wound touch water, and do not allow the cat to lick the wound. Feed some easily digestible food such as meat porridge, canned food, and nutritional paste
