2. Appearance characteristics
The size of the Akita dog’s head is consistent with the proportion of the body, the bridge of the nose is clear in outline, and the tip of the nose is normal black. If the tip of the Akita dog’s nose is very flat and lacks melanin pigmentation, then the appearance and pedigree are not very good. The eyes are also triangular in shape, and their normal color is dark brown. At first glance, they look like they have entered a pool of water. The teeth must bite tightly to make the appearance more prominent. If the upper jaw or lower jaw is too protruding, the appearance of the Akita dog will not be very good.
The neck of the Akita Inu is thick, muscular and short, the body length is slightly longer than the height, the ribs are well expanded, and the chest muscles are well developed. The shoulders are strong and powerful, the hindquarters are broad, muscular, and the bone mass is comparable to that of the forelimbs. The Akita’s coat is double-coated, with a thick, soft, dense undercoat and slightly shorter than the topcoat. The coat is straight, coarse, and erect on the body. The coat is relatively easy to care for.
