Gastrointestinal problems
Most golden retrievers have gastrointestinal problems. Firstly, it is because of their nature: they eat without knowing whether they are hungry or full, and overeat; secondly, because the people who feed them do not know how to pay attention to the diet of golden retrievers. Excessive pampering will cause a lot of harm to the golden retriever's intestines and stomach.
Weather reasons
In hot summer, dogs cannot eat well due to climate problems. Similarly, when a golden retriever is in a strange environment and feels nervous and fearful, it will also affect its appetite. Whenever this happens, parents don’t need to worry too much. Generally, give the golden retriever some time and prepare some light and delicious food. Soon the golden retriever will return to a normal diet and eat well.
Food itself problems
The Golden Retriever’s inability to eat well may also be due to problems with the food itself. For example, if the food is spoiled and rotten and smells bad, or the food tastes wrong, this will also affect the golden retriever's appetite. Therefore, every time you prepare food for your Golden Retriever, it is best to check whether the food is fresh. Do not feed rotten food to your Golden Retriever. This will not only easily affect its appetite, but in serious cases may also induce gastrointestinal diseases.
Bad eating habits
The golden retriever has developed bad eating habits since he was a child, making it hard for him to eat well. If this is the case, you might as well starve the dog for a day. Generally, when the dog is really hungry, it will not care too much about food. We know that dogs are animals that “cannot tolerate hunger but cannot tolerate satiety”, so if a hungry dog can eat two meals at a time, there will generally be no problems. Of course, you have to pay close attention to the condition of your golden retriever during the fasting process.
