First clean the dog’s anus with warm water to soften the skin and relax the dog. Usually in this case, the dog’s anal glands are easier to clean.

To squeeze and clean the anal glands, first hold the root of the dog’s tail with your left hand to expose the anal opening;

Hold the toilet paper in your right hand, place it directly against the dog's anus, press the anal glands at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock with the thumb and index finger of your right hand, squeeze inward and then rub outward, there will be anal gland fluid discharge. After repeated squeezing several times, the anal gland fluid can be emptied.

Don’t use excessive force when squeezing your dog’s anal glands to prevent anal gland damage and inflammation. It is important to note that long-term soft stools in dogs can easily cause anal gland fluid accumulation and obstruction, so the cleaning cycle of the anal glands should be relatively short.

If the dog suffers from anal sacculitis, it can be cured once a week for three consecutive weeks.
