1.Social skills
The tester kneels at a distance in front of the Boston Terrier puppy and calls the puppy to come. If the puppy runs straight towards it with its tail raised, it must be a puppy that is confident and likes to socialize; a puppy with an independent personality may Indifferent; a weak and timid puppy may come forward but with a hesitant attitude and tail hanging down.
2.Follow
The tester first stood up and walked slowly to attract the puppies to follow. The puppies with strong self-confidence will take the initiative to follow, while the strong dogs will walk in front of people or stumble; the weak and timid dogs will The hesitant dog will act again; the independent dog will go elsewhere.
3. Suppression
Turn the puppy over on the ground with its legs in the air, press its chest with one hand, use slight force to restrict it from moving, and stare into its eyes for half a minute. At this time, the strong dog will struggle hard and show no fear in his eyes; the timid dog will be docile and submissive, with his eyes wandering. This test is very important, and the strongest puppies are only suitable for experienced people.
4. Tolerance
After completing the suppression test, immediately place the puppy in front of you, gently stroke its body, speak to it softly, and lower your head and lean forward so that it can lick the tester's face. A puppy that remembers being suppressed and is not tolerant is more difficult to train.
5. Improve
Hold the puppy on your chest and stand for half a minute. The purpose is to test how it copes with uncontrollable circumstances. A puppy that can lie comfortably in your arms will easily adapt to a strange environment when it grows up; on the contrary, a puppy that keeps struggling will also be unwilling to accept human dominance when it grows up.
6. Tour
Crush a piece of paper into a ball and throw it a few feet in front of the puppy. Usually its reaction will be: 1. Run to the paper ball, pick it up, and walk back with the encouragement of the tester. This will be a good dog that is easy to train; 2. He has little interest in the paper balls and even walks away. This dog has a low level of training; 3. Walking around corners with paper balls in its mouth, chewing and playing alone, this independent dog will need an experienced trainer in the future. While this test is important in selecting a working dog, it is also useful in testing whether the dog is interested in humans.
7. Touch
Use your thumb and forefinger to pinch the skin between the middle toes of the puppy's front feet and count from one to ten. At the same time, your fingers gradually increase the intensity accordingly. If the puppy has struggled violently at the beginning, it will be more likely to be lapped, restrained and restrained in the future. Training can be overly sensitive; a dog that struggles under the most intense pressure needs a tough trainer.
8. Hearing
Knock a metal cover once and it will make a loud sound. After a loud noise, the puppy will often panic. If there is no response, take it to the veterinarian immediately to check whether it is deaf. If the puppy can quickly return to normal and can find the source of the sound, it is an alert and excellent dog. A dog that is fearful and avoids the source of sound may not be suitable for a noisy family.
9. Vision
Wave some strips of cloth in front of the puppies. The confident puppies will quietly study what they are, the brave ones will try to bite it, and the timid ones will have hid long ago.
