Tips for walking your dog in the rain
What should you pay attention to when walking your dog in the rain? When walking your dog in the rain, you should prepare a well-fitting raincoat or a special umbrella for pets, and also put on shoes for your dog. Do not use leather collars and ropes for dogs on rainy days. Use washable materials, and do not use harness-type leashes for dogs. After returning home on a rainy day, first dry the dog's body with a towel, wash the paws, and then blow dry with a hair dryer.

1. When walking your dog on a rainy day, you should prepare a well-fitting raincoat for your dog. It is recommended to use an all-inclusive raincoat. Common dog raincoats include cape type and full-coverage type. If your dog doesn’t like to wear clothes, you can choose the cape-type. However, the full-coverage type can cover the buttocks and legs, making it less likely to get wet.

Some dogs don’t like to wear clothes, so you can prepare a pet-specific umbrella, which can come in handy when the wind and rain are not particularly heavy.

It is also necessary to put on shoes or pet rain boots for the dog to prevent the soles of the feet from getting wet. However, you should avoid wearing shoes for a long time, otherwise the soles of the feet will get sick easily due to the dampness.

2. It is not suitable to use leather collars and ropes in rainy days, because the leather is not easy to dry and deforms after absorbing water; you can choose washable materials, and the collar can be replaced when it gets wet to avoid neck dermatitis. Do not use a strap-type leash, because the button loop is looped behind the shoulder blades, and the raincoat is easy to deform when you put it on, and the rain protection effect is not good.

3. After returning home on a rainy day, dry the dog's entire body with a towel first, and wipe the spaces between the paws with a towel one by one. There is hair between the soles of the dog's feet, especially long-haired dogs, and there will be long hair on the soles of the feet. If it still feels damp after wiping it with a towel, use a hair dryer to dry it.

4. If your dog is caught in the rain and its hair is soaked, you can clean it according to your usual bathing routine; if you have used shampoo twice in a week, just clean it with water to avoid overuse of shampoo. Causes dry and itchy skin.

If the dog is partially stained with mud, you can spray dry cleaning agent on it, rub the dirty hair with your hands, wipe it with a towel, and finally comb it with a comb.
