How does Satsuma tell age?
How do you judge the age of a Satsuma? Judging based on the condition of the canine teeth: the deciduous teeth under 2 months old are small and sharp, and all canine teeth have been replaced and grown neatly between 3-10 months old; the cusps of the upper and lower incisors are smoothed out at 2-3 years old, and the cusps of the upper and lower incisors are smoothed out at 4-5 years old. The lower incisors gradually turn yellow, and the roots of the teeth are exposed between the ages of 6 and 8. After the age of 8, the canine teeth begin to fall out, officially entering the old age.

1. Judgment based on teeth

Under 2 months old, only deciduous teeth are white, thin and sharp

Replace front teeth in 2-4 months

Replacement of canine teeth at 4-6 months, with white teeth and blunt cusps

Replacement of molars at 6-10 months

1 year old, the teeth are straight, white and bright, and the incisors have no cusps

2 years old, the cusp of the lower incisors is partially ground down

3 years old The cusp of the upper incisors is partially ground flat

4-5 years old The upper and lower incisors begin to wear, become slightly beveled and turn yellow

6-8 years old, the incisors are worn and the roots of the teeth are exposed, the canine teeth are yellow and the lips are worn

2. Judgment based on expression

This method of judging the age of a Samoyed is still relatively vague. To put it simply, the younger the Samoyed, the clearer and brighter his eyes are. For example, a Samoyed around 1 year old has an active expression, bright eyes and is active; a 2-4 year old Samoyed has a cheerful, enthusiastic personality and full of energy; when the Samoyed reaches 6 or 7 years old, it will still enter aging. Its facial expression will become slightly dull, its eyes will begin to become cloudy, and its response to stimuli will become slower.

3. Judgment based on nose and coat

You can also look at the color of the nose. The color of the nose of an old Satsuma will become lighter, fading from black to dark brown. You can also look at the coat. As a Satsuma ages, the coat will become sparse and the color will turn slightly yellow.
