What to do if your dog’s hair becomes tangled

What should I do if my dog’s hair is knotted? Don’t wet your dog’s hair after it’s knotted. The hair will shrink if it gets wet and then dries again, making it more difficult to comb; comb the dog’s knotted hair to loosen it, and slowly Comb the hair towards the roots and then use a bristle comb to comb it smoothly; if the dog's hair is knotted, you can use a smoothing spray to make it easier to comb it loose.

Don’t get it wet: If the dog’s coat gets wet and then dries again, it will shrink, and it will be impossible to comb it out at this time, so dogs with tangled hair must not get wet.

Two combs: first use a row comb to comb out all the knots of the hair, and then slowly move towards the root of the hair. When you feel that the hair has been combed out, use a bristle comb to comb the hair smoothly.

Detangling spray: Detangling spray rich in lanolin makes combing easier.

Don’t take too long: If the dog is knotted in more than one place, or the knotting is too serious, the cleaning time should not be too long. Grooming should take no more than 10 minutes at a time. Moderate rest and encouragement will help dispel the dog's motivation to resist struggling.

Knot cutter: Using a special knot cutter can help you deal with knots more easily.
