What can’t Corgi eat?

What are the things that Corgis cannot eat? There are many things that Corgis cannot eat, such as things that are difficult to digest, sweet and spicy things, raw or half-cooked things, greasy things, and pungent spices. They are not allowed to be fed to Corgis. In serious cases, they may harm the Corgis, so you should pay special attention when feeding them.

1. Things that are not easy to digest: shrimp, squid, crabs, octopus, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, zhichi, chicken bones and other things that are not easy to digest, especially shrimps and crabs, can easily cause vomiting or diarrhea in Corgis.

2. Sweet and spicy things: Corgis can easily become obese if they eat sweet foods for a long time, and are prone to diabetes or the sweet disease of wealth. In normal times, you should avoid feeding your Corgis biscuits, candies and the like. Spicy food will paralyze the dog's sense of taste and make him unable to eat because it is too exciting.

3. Raw or half-cooked things: Raw or half-cooked things contain a large number of bacteria, such as salmonella, etc., and dogs will be poisoned after eating them. Therefore, like humans, the meat they eat must be thoroughly cooked.

4. Pungent spices: Pungent spices such as ginger, curry powder, pepper, wasabi, and chili peppers are very irritating to the dog’s gastrointestinal tract and can cause burden on the liver and kidneys. Long-term consumption may even cause the Corgi to lose its sense of smell.

5. Greasy things: Greasy things contain a high amount of fat, which will make the Corgi obese and may cause pancreatic inflammation that is life-threatening to the Corgi. When a Corgi gets used to something with a strong taste, its taste will become stronger and it will form a bad habit of being picky.

 6. Things with high salt content

Things containing salt are not easy for Corgis to digest, and many human things contain a lot of salt, which puts a heavy burden on Corgis and can easily cause problems such as hair loss.

7. Rotten and spoiled food

No one will take the initiative to feed spoiled food to Corgis, but Corgis like to rummage through the trash cans. Once they eat spoiled food in the trash cans, it will cause various diseases. (Looks like I need to buy a litter box with a lid).

8. Dairy products

Dairy products are not very dangerous, but they can cause damage to Corgis in two situations. One situation is that they contain too much fat, and the dangers of high-fat stuff (pancreatitis) have been stated above. Another situation is that Corgi dogs lack digestive lactase. Some corgis are particularly severe and may cause diarrhea. Some Corgis can eat small amounts of plain yogurt or cheese, but it's safer to avoid dairy.

9.Chocolate

In addition to being high in fat, it also contains caffeine and theobromine. These two substances mainly stimulate the mental system, so if they are taken in too much, they can cause corgi poisoning. Different types of chocolate contain different amounts of caffeine and theobromine. For example, white chocolate containsThe amount is the smallest, and the dark chocolate and coffee beans are very high. Depending on the amount of chocolate consumed, the Corgi may suffer from vomiting and diarrhea. If the poisoning warning level is reached, the Corgi will show abnormal excitement, muscle spasms, frequent urination, panting, and increased heartbeat and blood pressure.
