How to identify poodles
How to identify a Poodle? Judging from the gait, a purebred Poodle’s running movements should be stretched, accurate and relaxed. From a physical perspective, a good purebred Poodle should be no less than 9 inches and no more than 12 inches tall at the withers. Judging from the hair, the coat of a purebred Poodle should be very soft and elastic.

 1. Gait

A purebred Poodle’s running movements should be smooth, accurate and relaxed. Viewed from the side, the extension movements of the front and rear legs are coordinated with each other, the forequarters extend easily, the hindquarters drive powerfully, and the topline remains stable.

 2. Body shape

The purebred Poodle should first be very well-proportioned, and the height of the Poodle should be between 9.5 inches and 11.5 inches. If some poodles are slightly taller, but all indicators and appearance are very standard and well-proportioned, then they can be appropriately relaxed. But no matter what, a good purebred Poodle should be no less than 9 inches and no more than 12 inches tall at the withers. Beyond this range, it cannot be considered a first-class purebred poodle.

 3. Hair

The coat of a purebred Poodle should be very soft and elastic. Especially after the poodle has been bathed and brushed, the coat stands on the body, creating a powder puff effect as a whole. At the same time, the undercoat of a good purebred Bichon Frize is soft and thick, while the outer coat is a bit curly and rough. At the same time, when the dog owner touches it, the combination of two different hairs will give people a soft and strong feeling, which feels as elastic as velvet.

 4. Color

The most recommended color for mature purebred poodles is white. If it is a Bichon Frize puppy, you can relax a little more. For example, some puppies have light yellow, cheese color or apricot shades around the ears or on the body. It does not matter. Not too big, because some Bichon Frize puppies will turn white when they grow up. But if it is an adult Bichon Frize and other colors on the body exceed 10% of the total coat, it is unacceptable and naturally cannot be classified as a good purebred Bichon Frize.
