How to train a Border Collie to stand
1. During training, make the Border Collie sit down, then gently pull the leash and issue the "stand" command and gesture (stretch your right arm in the direction of the dog, palm upward).

2. When the Border Collie stands, reward it. Then the owner should gradually leave the dog's side to make the dog stand longer.

3. On this basis, gradually develop the ability to stand according to gestures or commands and last for a certain period of time.

4. If the Border Collie does not participate in the training, you can first let the dog sit down, and then put the food in front of the Border Collie's nose and let it smell it.

5. Then, slowly move the food farther away so that the Border Collie can see it but cannot touch it, and guide the Border Collie to stand up. Then the dog owner gives the "stand" command and gesture (stretch the right arm in the direction of the dog, palm upward), and when the dog stands, reward it.

6. Once the Border Collie dog stands up, the owner gives it the food in his hand as a reward. Then add commands and gestures to gradually become familiar with this training.

Notes:

1. If the "standing" action lasts too long, it can easily cause injury to the lumbar spine of the Border Collie puppy. Therefore, do not let the dog stand at attention for too long or continue to stand at attention for too long.

2. If the dog cannot stand up instinctively, how can you teach it? You can control it through the dog leash, but the force should not be too strong, and do not strangle the dog until it can’t breathe; nor should it be too small, It cannot maintain its standing position and falls down. The control of time and intensity is very important.

3. If the dog is not obedient during training, you can try to use some delicious food, such as beef jerky, dried meat, etc., to induce it to stand up, talk to the dog, and slowly lengthen the border collie. Upright time.

Generally speaking, by using the methods introduced above, coupled with the correct strength when you pull up the collar, you can make the dog stand upright steadily.
