How to deal with Whippet vomiting:
Urine examination
The main purpose of the urine test is to see if the Whippet has a urinary tract infection. In addition to checking for infection, the urine test can also check kidney function, check the sugar content, ketone content, pH, and various crystals in the urine.
If your Whippet has symptoms of frequent urination and urgency, hematuria, inability to urinate, or excessive urination, be sure to do a urinary examination! For older dogs, a urinary examination during the annual examination can observe the health of the kidneys.
Stool examination
Annual stool examination and regular deworming are steps that cannot be omitted. Remember to bring a sample of your Whippet’s most recent stool for each annual examination. If the baby starts to have diarrhea for no reason, a stool examination is also necessary to rule out parasites!
Here are some opinions on whether there are parasites in stool examination:
1. If your Whippet is dewormed regularly, it will definitely be free of parasites.
Fact: No anthelmintic drug can get rid of all parasites, so a stool test can determine whether there are parasites in the intestines.
2. There are no worms in Whippet’s poop, so there must be no parasites.
Fact: Many parasites just lay eggs, which are definitely not visible without a microscope.
3. No parasites were found in the stool examination, so there must be no parasites.
Fact: Stool examination only takes a small sample, so there is a certain chance that parasites will be missed and produce false negative results.
Regular checkups for Whippets are the same as for us humans. You must remember to go when the time comes every year. Don’t delay. The Whippets will be healthy and the owners will be much more relaxed!
