Can dogs eat cooked sweet potatoes?

Dogs can eat cooked sweet potatoes, but not too much. Sweet potatoes contain too much sugar, which cannot be fully digested by the dog's gastrointestinal tract. Eating too much can lead to obesity and bloating in dogs.

Although sweet potatoes can promote gastrointestinal motility and excretion in dogs. However, breeders need to feed a small amount to avoid increasing the burden on the dog’s gastrointestinal tract and causing gastroenteritis in severe cases.

If breeders want to feed sweet potatoes to their dogs, they can crush them into puree and mix them with dog food. This ensures that the food is not single, and also prevents the dog from becoming bloated if it only eats sweet potatoes.
