As the most complex dog breed that tests the beautician’s skills, the Poodle’s style has been changing for hundreds of years while being complicated, and becoming classic while changing. Let’s walk into the beautiful palace of poodle style...
1.Puppy type
Poodles under one year old may be trimmed into a puppy style with long hair. Dogs with this form need to have their face, throat, feet and lower tail trimmed. The entire foot is clearly visible after trimming, and the tail is modified into a pom-pom shape. In order to make its appearance neat and elegant and ensure its smooth visual effect, the fur of the whole body is allowed to be properly modified. "English Saddle" - The coat of the English Saddle needs to be trimmed on the face, throat, forelegs and base of the tail. After trimming, some hair is left at the joints of the forelimbs, and the end of the tail is trimmed into a pompon shape. Except for two arc-shaped pieces of modified fur on each side of the body and two hind legs, the rest of the hind body is cut short. After trimming, the entire foot is exposed, and the parts above the joints of the forelimbs are also clearly visible. The other parts of the fur do not need to be trimmed, but in order to ensure the overall balance of the poodle, they can be trimmed appropriately.
2. "Continental type"
Trim the face, throat, feet and bottom of the tail. The dog's hindquarters are trimmed into a pom-pom shape at the rump, and the rest of the dog's body is trimmed clean. After pruning, the entire foot and the forelegs above the joints are exposed. The fur on other parts of the body does not need to be trimmed, but it can be trimmed appropriately to maintain the overall balance.
3. "Hound Type"
In the trimming of the hound-type poodle, the face, feet, throat and bottom of the tail are trimmed, leaving only a group of scissor-shaped hat-shaped fur, and the bottom of the tail is also modified into a pom-pom shape. In order to achieve a clear and smooth outline of the entire body, the hair on other parts of the trunk, including the limbs, should be no more than one inch, and the fur on the limbs may be slightly longer than the fur on the trunk.
In all types of trims, the hair on the head can be left natural or tied up with rubber bands. Only when the hair on the head is of equal length can the dog have a smooth and perfect appearance. "Headgear" only refers to the hair on the skull, that is, from the bridge of the nose to the occipital bone. Only in this area does the rubber band come into play.
